The Hyde Park Festival is one of Perth’s most loved free community events, bringing thousands of families, friends and visitors together for two huge days of entertainment, markets, food trucks and fun.

Located in the heart of Hyde Park, North Perth, the festival is easy to access — but planning how you get there will make your day even smoother.

Here’s your complete guide to the best ways to travel to the festival — with the FREE shuttle bus as our top recommendation.

🚌 1. FREE Shuttle Bus – The Smartest Way to Arrive

If you want the easiest, most stress-free option, the free festival shuttle bus is absolutely the way to go.

Why choose the shuttle?

✔ No parking stress

✔ No long walks carrying chairs or picnic rugs

✔ No time-limited parking meters

✔ Easy for families and groups

✔ Convenient drop-off right at the festival

The shuttle runs in a continuous loop throughout the festival days, connecting key parking and transport locations directly to Hyde Park.

Shuttle Stops Include:

• Loftus Street (before Richmond Street)

• Meeting Place Kiosk at Hyde Park

• Beaufort Street (after Greenway Street)

• East Perth Train Station

• Williams Street (after Glendower Street at Hyde Park)

This loop service makes it simple to park nearby or arrive by train, then jump straight on the shuttle and be dropped close to the action.

If you're coming from further out, consider catching a train into East Perth Station and transferring to the shuttle for a seamless journey.

👉 Our tip: Arrive early in the morning for the smoothest experience and to maximise your festival day.

🚲 2. Ride Your Bike – Easy & Eco-Friendly

Cycling to the festival is a fantastic option for locals and those within riding distance.

To make it even easier:

🚲 Bike racks will be supplied at Gate 5.

This dedicated area allows you to safely secure your bike before heading into the festival grounds. Hyde Park is well connected by bike paths, making this a relaxed and environmentally friendly way to travel.

If you enjoy an active start to your day, this is a great choice.

🚆 3. Public Transport – Train & Bus Options

Public transport is another reliable way to reach the festival.

• Catch a train to East Perth Station, then connect to the free shuttle

• Use regular Transperth bus routes servicing Beaufort Street, William Street and Vincent Street• Plan ahead using the Transperth Journey Planner

Public transport is particularly helpful if you're travelling from outer suburbs or want to avoid driving altogether.

🚶 4. Walk If You’re Local

If you live in North Perth, Mount Lawley, Leederville or surrounding suburbs, walking is often the simplest and most enjoyable way to arrive.

You’ll avoid traffic completely and can enjoy the beautiful tree-lined surrounds of Hyde Park as you approach the festival.

🚗 5. Driving – Plan Ahead

While driving is an option, it is not the preferred one due to:

• Limited parking

• Time restrictions on nearby streets

• Increased traffic during peak hours

If you do choose to drive:

• Look for parking in surrounding streets

• Consider parking slightly further away and using the free shuttle

• Arrive early to secure a spot

Combining driving with the shuttle service is often the best compromise.

✨ Our Recommendation

The free shuttle bus is by far the easiest and most convenient way to travel to Hyde Park Festival. It removes the hassle and allows you to focus on enjoying the event from the moment you arrive.

Whether you ride, walk, catch public transport or hop on the shuttle, planning ahead ensures your festival day starts smoothly.

We can’t wait to see you there!

There are quite a number of people at east Perth train station trying to figure out where the free shuttle departs from. Is it possible to get an exact location for clarity?
