Day One of the Hyde Park Festival has wrapped up, and what a magical start it has been.

From the moment the gates opened at 10am, Hyde Park transformed into a sea of smiling faces, picnic rugs, prams, fairy wings and wide-eyed little humans ready for adventure.

And the weather? Absolute perfection. Blue skies, sunshine and that beautiful Perth breeze that makes you grateful to live right here in Western Australia.

🦄 Unicorns, Fairies & Pure Childhood Joy

If you walked through the park today, you would have heard it before you saw it, the sound of children laughing, squealing, and absolutely living their best lives.

Unicorns wandered through the crowds. Fairies fluttered through the Free Kids Zone. Face painting queues were long (and worth it). Tiny hands clutched fairy floss while little feet ran between activities.

The Kids Zone was alive with excitement, happy chaos in the very best way. The kind of noise that tells you memories are being made.

🌭 Stuffed Bellies & Local Flavours

Let’s talk about the food… because wow.

From the Rotary sausage sizzles to gourmet food trucks, sweet treats and handmade delights — there was something for everyone. Stuffed bellies everywhere you looked. Families sharing meals under the trees. Friends catching up over coffee. Kids convincing parents that yes, they definitely needed one more churro.

Our handmade stall holders brought such beautiful energy to the park. So many talented local makers showcasing their crafts, art, gifts and creations. It’s something really special seeing Perth’s small businesses supported so strongly by the community.

💛 Community at Its Best

The Hyde Park Festival is proudly run by the incredible volunteers of the Rotary Club of North Perth, and today was a powerful reminder of why this event has been running for 38 years.

Gate donations, sausage sizzles, smiling volunteers, sponsors and community support — every single dollar raised helps support charities making a difference locally.

This year, we are raising vital funds for Little Things for Tiny Tots, helping Perth mums and families access essential baby items and services. Seeing the generosity at the gates today was incredibly humbling.

We are truly grateful.

🌞 A Perfect Start

Day One was everything the Hyde Park Festival stands for:

• Free family fun

• Community connection

• Local businesses thriving

• Kids laughing

• Parents relaxing

• Volunteers working tirelessly behind the scenes

And the best part? We get to do it all again tomorrow.

If today was anything to go by, Day Two is going to be just as magical.

Thank you, Perth, for showing up.Thank you for donating.Thank you for supporting local.Thank you for being part of something special.

See you tomorrow at 10am 💛
