Your Budget Friendly Guide of Hyde Park Festival 2024(Have a great day out for under $25!)

By Sophie Binning

With families it’s always important to find amazing affordable days out to keep the entire family entertained, and that is where we come in! Hyde Park Festival is a FREE community event for the entire family, and we’ve created a guide to help you get the most bang for your buck!

Transport:

There are lots of ways you can make your way to Hyde Park Festival this year, and the most cost-effective ways are also the healthiest and environmentally conscious! The City of Vincent is providing bike racks for festival goers looking for a great way to get to the park. Transperth also has services within walking distance of the park located on William St, Fitzgerald St, and Beaufort St.

With the State Government and Transperth making Sunday travel free for all SmartRider users, if you travel to day one of Hyde Park Festival, your travel costs will be completely covered! On Monday, a great alternative is a FamilyRider ticket that costs $10 and is unlimited all day for up to seven people!

For more information visit https://transperth.com/journeyplanner.

For those with ACROD permits, there is accessible parking onsite so no need to pay for limited street parking.

Entertainment:

Our Fuel to Go & Play Mainstage is full of free entertainment! Starting off with a free yoga class at 10AM on both Sunday and Monday, followed by a range of amazing acts, including belly dancing, live bands, a fashion show and Talent in the Park, a crowd favourite!

Not only do we have incredible acts on all day at the Fuel to Go & Play Mainstage, but around the park in our designated busking areas, which has now increased from two to THREE spaces, so you can look at the amazing stalls while listening to music all day long. These busking areas are located at each end of the park, in the Beats & Buns, Lake West. And the brand new Showbag Central. Not only that, we also have roaming entertainment in the form of Frank the Accordion Man, and Rock ‘N’ Toddle!

There is also a waterpark that is permanent at Hyde Park that will be in use the weekend of the festive that can bring some much-needed relief on a hot long weekend.

For a full run down on our entertainment this year, see the entertainment tab on our website.

Food/Drink:

Food and drink will be in abundance at the park so you will have a range of options to choose from. A tried-and-true option, that is also budget friendly is our Rotary sausage sizzle! With sausage sizzles for $3.50 and meal deals for $6 it is a great option for the entire family. You can also bring your own water bottles which can be refilled, be sure to check out the Halyn Hydration Station, for water bottles or just a bottle refill. Your furry friends are also covered, with dog bowls, courtesy of The Perth Property Co., situated around the park.

A family of four could have a great day out for under $25! Now why wouldn’t you want to check out how amazing Hyde Park Festival is?

Hyde Park Festival opens at 10AM on both Sunday March 3rd, and Monday March 4th 2024.
