Wondering what we mean when we say we're raising money for Perth charities?

Hyde Park Festival is the North Perth Rotarys major fundraiser with funds raised going towards charities they support. This year, Australian Rotary Heath has been named as the major beneficary.

Over the last 37 years we have raised over $500,000 for a range of charities. It's this festival that allows the Club to continue their work in our communities.

Australian Rotary Health has funded family and community health research for over 40 years. It is supported by all Rotary districts around Australia.

ARH's first research grant reduced the global incidence of SIDS or ‘Cot Death’ by 80% world-wide. ARH also oversees Indigenous Health Scholarships (and rural medical and nursing scholarships), with now over 400 IHS alumni around Australia and around 40 from WA, many of whom now lead their professional disciplines.

For over 20 years, under its “Lift the Lid” program, ARH has been one of Australia’s leading funders of research into mental illness and mental health, including the Mental Health First Aid suite, Cool Kids programs and Food and Mood etc. These are now used in over 25 countries around the world, attracting support from mental health practitioners, and celebrities such as Lady Gaga across North America.

ARH is now focussing research into pre-teen mental health, and area the WA Auditor General and leading national experts consider a major priority to minimising illness in later years.

ARH publishes Fact Books, podcasts and  research summaries via its website: www.AustralianRotaryHealth.org.au
